My name is Harry, and I really like music.
Over the last couple of years I’ve been teaching myself bass guitar and during that time I’ve started listening to music different and appreciating a much much wider range than I have in the past.
The point of this website is for me to listen to albums, both new and old, and give my personally opinion on the songs and overall album. There’s not going to be any analysing the musical techniques or diving into why the album works or doesn’t with theory because, well, I simply don’t understand music theory all that well.
My musical taste ranges significantly. During my teens I grew up listening to Eminem (Curtain Call being my favourite album) and Queen (thanks to influence from my Dad). These days I listen to a lot of Jazz, Blues, Funk, Pop, Indie, Rap, Rock, and Pop-Punk. The music I tend to stay away from is anything heavy like Screamo or Thrashmetal.
When playing the bass, I try and learn songs from Blues bands like Cream, Funk and Jazzy bands like Vulf and James Brown, and some current charting music so I can play something when someone inevitably says “play me something I’ll know”.
